Mermaid #2

I finished my first actual mermaid order today...
She has medium brown hair, blue eyes & freckles.
Even though you cant see it she also has an appendectomy scar.
{Mermaid outfit is removable}
Cant wait to get the rest of her outfits done so i can get her in the mail :)

I have wanted to make a mermaid for a long time

just haven't had a second to make a pattern.

So a few weeks ago i had a customer ask if i could make one for her daughters birthday.

YAY!!

I LOVE it when this happens because it forces me to get it figured out.

Soooo last night i drew a pattern and today tried it out.

She is the 15 inch doll

and the tail slips over her legs/feet with elastic at the top.

These three cuties are on their way to the UK today.
I cant wait until they see them in person.

WELLLL that got my mind going and this is what i came up with.

Still time to pick her eye color...
but act fast ill probably choose brown or green tomorrow :)

So recently while talking to my Aunt Vickie,
 she told me she had thrown one of my bunnies in the washing machine.
ANNNND she came out PERFECT!
So we talked about fabric hair for the dolls.
I have wanted to try this for over a year but haven't had a second to think about trying it.
One reason i LOVE making these dolls is because i can take care of kiddos and things at home
and then sew orders in between.
 {With the exception of Christmas this year...that was a little CrAzY!
Thank goodness the hubby also works from home.... ;) Love him}

Anyways.... So i decided to try the fabric hair

I was so excited when i got this order.
 I have been making a lot of the 11 inch dolls like this but not in the 15 inch.
Its fun when i get to do something different.

I had so much fun with these 4 dolls.
 They all had different hair styles and she matched
the outfits to their personalities or interests.
