I finished my first actual mermaid order today...
She has medium brown hair, blue eyes & freckles.
Even though you cant see it she also has an appendectomy scar.

SUPER ExCiTeD about this Mermaid!

I have wanted to make a mermaid for a long time

just haven't had a second to make a pattern.

So a few weeks ago i had a customer ask if i could make one for her daughters birthday.

YAY!!

I LOVE it when this happens because it forces me to get it figured out.

Soooo last night i drew a pattern and today tried it out.

She is the 15 inch doll

and the tail slips over her legs/feet with elastic at the top.

These three were so fun to make!

My mom just left yesterday for Colorado.

She took my middle son, nephew and two nieces with her.

She had me make dolls for my nieces

 and my cousins little girl.

So excited to get this cute

I have had lots of orders for the
curly hair lately.
She has blonde hair, blue eyes

This customer actually supplied me
with the fabric she wanted for the outfit.
 

Decided today to take some time away
 from the sewing machine....
I took my boys and nephew to
Zions National Park.
I LOVE that we are so close to such an amazing place.
The boys had a blast and we cant wait to go back.
I LOVE SUMMER!

This was a fun change....
I'm so used to pink, purple and flowers.
It was fun to go looking
for dino fabric.
When i couldn't find what i wanted in a small print
i decided to cut out the dinosaur.
I think she turned out pretty darn cute!

I was super excited to start this doll because
 i hadn't done the curly hair for a while.
Also the little cutie that she was being made for
 is going into the hospital soon.
These little kids and their families go through sooooo much.

 she told me she had thrown one of my bunnies in the washing machine.
ANNNND she came out PERFECT!
So we talked about fabric hair for the dolls.
I have wanted to try this for over a year but haven't had a second to think about trying it.
One reason i LOVE making these dolls is because i can take care of kiddos and things at home
and then sew orders in between.
 {With the exception of Christmas this year...that was a little CrAzY!
Thank goodness the hubby also works from home.... ;) Love him}
